An Introduction

Hi. Being a nearly life-long fan of Little House On The Prairie, both the books and the television series, and having been a teacher for two-thirds of my life, I am calling myself Ms.Beadle. Do you remember her? She was the teacher in Walnut Grove, and she was kind, understanding, and inspiring. She went to great lengths to help her students academically and to provide them with "life wisdom." I hope that the many, many (did I say MANY?) students I have taught would feel that way about me. Another of my teacher heroes was Miss Stacey in Anne of Green Gables. She challenged her students to be the best they could be. She took them beyond the walls of the schoolhouse and out into the world around them. She gave them a foundation of knowledge that was broad in scope and deep in understanding. She laughed easily, and she was honest. She didn't allow her students to do less than their best. Miss Frizzle, the red-haired heroine of the Magic School Bus series is another favorite. She specialized in "field trips" that magically brought science to life for her students. She loved nature and animals and children -- we are kindred spirits.

Since life requires one to never be just a teacher, but always a student as well, I will be sharing with you many of the life lessons I am learning in the classroom of the heart. The teacher is my Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ. He and I have known each other for over 50 years. I am daily humbled by the personal, customized, clever lessons He has for me. He reveals Himself to me in special ways, and helps me to better grasp what His Word, the Bible, says.

About the title of this blog -- where I live, we have a huge old oak tree that drops a gazillion acorns, which sweet-faced deer like to munch on late at night. It is OFTEN windy here. Very windy. I really don't like wind much, but I am learning to be thankful for the beautiful, clear, sunny days, and to complain more softly about the wind.  We live in the pines, and the wind makes music in the trees! Sometimes it is a quiet little tune, and sometimes a loud, boisterous anthem! I hear nature sing songs about the Creator, and the beauty of living in the country with the acorns, wind, and pines makes my heart happy.

I hope you find a sweet fragrance and blessing as you join me here at Acorns, Wind, and Pines. :D

Hugs!

Ms. Beadle
